Alfred Graham elected ITMA President
The Imported Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ITMA) has elected Alfred Graham as president with immediate effect. Graham previously held the position of association treasurer for the last eight years and succeeds David Seward who stood down as president at the end of his two-year term.
“Having been an active member of ITMA for some 20 years, I’m delighted to have been elected as its latest president,” Alfred Graham commented. “We undoubtedly have some big challenges ahead of us in the next couple of years as a host of new rules and legislative requirements will be introduced. However, the association is in a very strong position to deal with these having developed a fantastic technical resource and member base and I look forward to working even more closely with my fellow members to address these issues.”
Graham brings with him a wealth of experience having been involved within the global tyre industry for more than 40 years. Having worked with various major international tyre brands for some 20 years, he established the tyre import company Alfred Graham Limited in 1981 which today is the UK distributor for the Chengshan Tire brand.
ITMA itself was established more than 30 years ago and remains the only trade association in Europe to exclusively represent the interests of non-EU based tyre manufacturers. The association now represents more than 30 tyre brands from its member companies.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank David Seward for his fantastic efforts over the last couple of years as ITMA President and I only hope I can continue with the same level of success and progress. I am looking forward to helping ITMA cement its relationships with other industry bodies as well as further adding to our member numbers and technical capabilities.”
