‘Ultra-fuel efficient’ Goodyear tyre coming soon
Goodyear has revealed that it is on the verge of introducing a new tyre technology "that will help car makers reach new levels of fuel efficiency and CO2 reductions in Europe. No details have been made available about the new technology, which was developed by the Goodyear Innovation Centre in Luxembourg and which is set to be revealed in the second half of this year.
The new product is currently in its final evaluation stage after “many hundreds of hours of research and development and it is one of two closely-guarded projects at Goodyear over the past year, with access to any information being heavily restricted. Goodyear says that the new technology “is expected to set standards in the tyre industry and will be officially recognised by an independent body.”
Hugues Despres, Goodyear Brand Director foe EMEA Consumer, said “We are in the final phase of a project that will define the goals and ambitions of Goodyear on the environmental front for many years to come and we look forward to revealing more in the near future.” Watch this space!
