Hankook acknowledges employees’ long service
Hankook recently celebrated the long service of a number of its employees at the company’s UK head office in Daventry, Northamptonshire. Barrie Horrocks, Hankook UK sales director and Ian Mayoll, UK PCR sales manager were both recognised for their 10 years service at Hankook Tyre UK Ltd. They were joined by several other members of the Hankook team as Tracy Martin (accounts assistant), Liz Coles (credit controller), Ben Francis (franchise manager) and Paul Field (logistics administrator) were also congratulated for their dedication.
Hankook were first introduced to the UK in the early 1980s with just two employees. The company now employ a total of 65 staff in the UK head office. “It is very satisfying to see so many of our valued UK team celebrate 10 years service with the company. Hankook have built a very successful, committed and experienced team of people here in the UK whose hard-work and knowledge of the tyre industry have been invaluable. I want to thank each one of them for their contribution over the last years and hope sincerely that they continue to grow with the company in years to come,” said Tony Lee, managing director at Hankook UK Ltd.
Barrie Horrocks, UK sales director added “My career in the tyre industry first began with another tyre manufacturer where I remained for 15 years. Here I worked in numerous sales manager roles selling a wide range of tyres for all vehicles and went on to specialise in truck fleet accounts. In 2002 I joined Hankook Tyres where I took up the UK commercial sales Manager position. In January 2011 I was appointed UK sales director. I have found my time at Hankook to be very rewarding and I’m proud to be part of a team that has shown continual growth.”
Ian Mayoll, UK PCR Sales Manager has worked in the UK tyre industry for a total of over 34 years and was the first European employed at Hankook Tyre UK in 1990 who then left the company briefly before returning once again in 2002. “The tyre industry has developed so much over the years and I am proud to now be celebrating a further 10 years with Hankook. The Hankook brand has grown at a tremendous rate both here in the UK and on a global level. Having been the first European employed by Hankook in the UK I have witnessed the company go from strength to strength as it gained market share and as brand awareness began to flourish.”
