Emrald supplier Totrax announces new web address, seeks network extension
Leading independent supplier of specialist wheels, tyres, axles and components for the OEM industrial and agricutural market, Totrax Ltd supplies the UK market with exclusive products from Emrald Greckster and Italmatic Comfort. The distributor recently announced a new website, having relaunched at www.totrax.com recently. Company representative Simon Tidmarsh told Tyres & Accessories: “We moved away from .co.uk to .com as a result of our increasing international sales for our off-road axle, springs and suspension customers.”
In the last six years, Totrax says it has built up a network of the finest independent industrial tyre specialists, supplying the fork truck and industrial trailer market with a complete range of tyres and wheels. This network allows all members to offer their customers a national service supplying Emrald or Italmatic brands wherever there customers operate the equipment. The company says it continues to seek opportunities to extend its network.
Totrax is now into its sixth year of distribution with Emrald Greckster. The tyre’s tread design improves traction and lowers rolling resistance, as well as being abrasion and cut resistant for extended life, It is made with soft Resilio layers for increased driving comfort and reduced equipment maintenance, a high durometer hard base compound for lower deflection and improved stability.
Emrald is an ISO 9001-2000 certified company with a custom-built plant in Chennai, India. Producing the complete range of industrial pneumatic, press on band and resilient tyres, Emrald achieved the certification in its first year of operations and continues to invest heavily in research and development, according to Totrax.
Emrald is the largest exporter of industrial solid tyres from India, going to more than 80 countries across the world, their main markets being USA, South America, Canada, CIS, Middle East and a strong European presence. It is the largest exporter of ground support tyres for the air travel industry in India and also holds the privilege of being the single largest OEM supplier to the forklift segment in India, with over 90 per cent market share.
Italmatic Supply
As well as Emrald, Totrax is entering its fourth year as exclusive distributor for Italmatic Comfort. Totrax describes the company as one of the last truly European manufacturers with a single operation in Capannori (near Lucca, Italy). Thanks to the experience gained through the supply of complete plants for superlastic solid tyres all over the world, the Capannori site is at present one of the most sophisticated and technologically advanced production plants with quality certification ISO 9001 (VISION 2000).
Totrax says the latest generation of Italmatic machinery is employed there, allowing them to produce “perfect” superlastic solid tyres using cylindrical, radial matrices in six segments. These matrices are used in the production of radial tyres throughout the world, while the traditional solid tyres are produced by the traditional technology of two halves matrices. Italmatic introduced this modern technology of radial, cylindrical matrices in six segments for the production of its superlastic solid tyres to be one step ahead of its competitors.
Rubber compounds, prepared with raw materials of a very high level, are supplied to the company by leading European producers, carefully selected, assuring a high technical support and maximum quality. This ensures that they are suitable for the extreme high cycle applications demanded by some of the UK`s leading fork truck hire companies for their long tern rental fleets.
Totrax says stock-holding is key to its success with these two brands. Although the shortages of 2011 caused some small delays, the company says the shortages are now over. Next day or standard three-day deliveries are achieved from stock; an extremely important requirement for the ever changing requirements of today’s industrial tyre specialists.
