Changeable UK weather calls for adaptable tyre: Bridgestone
Noting the changeable British climate in the month of May alone, Bridgestone UK has once again suggested the benefit of fitting its A001 Weather Control all season tyre. In recent months the unpredictable weather has left motorists battling vastly contrasting conditions in short periods of time. In extreme cases drivers have had to deal with weather ranging from heavy rain, sun, even hail and snow during the same journey. The last week’s hot weather replaced an unusually cold early May, with hail stones battering the Tyrepress.com office window in Stoke-on-Trent earlier in the month.
Bridgestone suggests that the fast changing weather conditions often mean that conventional tyres may not provide adequate safety. The company says the A001 Weather Control premium all-weather tyre ensures superior protection for all driving conditions. The tyres can be left on vehicles all year round and are able to deal with all of the wet and wintry weather seen during the spring, as well as the current spell of hot dry conditions currently being experienced.
In winter, the tread pattern’s high-density siping gives the tyre plenty of edge effect for controlled handling and braking on cold, frozen and snowy roads. Its special silica compound provides strong grip in wet and wintry conditions, regardless of the temperature.
Andy Dingley, communications manager at Bridgestone, suggests these features makes the product ideal for UK weather conditions: “The Bridgestone A001 Weather Control has been developed specifically for European regions and is ideal for moderate climates and the wet, light winters that we tend to get in the UK. The new A001 Weather Control is designed to give drivers a confident, safe, year round driving experience in these types of climates.”
The tyre is dynamic and easy to drive, thanks to excellent front-rear balance, stable cornering and strong traction in both wet and dry. On wet roads, the specially designed lens-shaped blocks achieve smooth water evacuation with low water turbulence, reducing the risk of hydroplaning. Bridgestone has also tuned the tread pattern for low noise and optimum road contact in all surface conditions.
Dingley added: “The A001 offers the ideal all round performance which provides motorists with peace of mind in all conditions and also reduces the need to spend money on winter specific tyres when the weather gets colder at a time when people’s funds are tight.”
