Pirelli Diablo Super Biker application available on Android
Pirelli has made its Diablo Super Biker application, launched last August on Apple’s iPhone, can now be used on Android devices. The free app boasts an award received at SMAU 2011 in the Utilities Tools and Productivity category of the Mob App Awards. Pirelli says more than 50,000 bikers have downloaded it.
Diablo Super Biker allows bikers to measure their performance in real time on the track or the street. Riders can keep track of the distance they’ve travelled on their bikes, the lean angle in turns and lap times by setting their smartphone to street or track mode before riding. The application records motion using Google Maps, which also records a snapshot of the rider’s performance in specific situations. Riders can see the routes travelled at any time, comparing them with previous results and sharing them on Facebook directly from the app.
The app is available in seven languages – English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish – and is compatible with Android devices, downloadable from Google Play Store for Android, and Apple’s iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone (iPhone 4 for lean angle measurement).
Pirelli has previously launched the official Pirelli Moto page on Facebook at the beginning of the year. It has attracted over 40,000 followers according to the tyre manufacturer. Pirelli has also used Facebook’s timeline structure to present photographs and anecdotes tracing more than 100 years of its history.
