McNally to head Cooper Tire European Technical Centre

Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe Ltd has appointed Peter McNally as general manager of its European Technical Centre at the company’s European headquarters in Melksham, UK. The appointment follows the move of former ETC head Gavin Edwards to Cooper’s Asia Technical Center. McNally takes up his new role with immediate effect.

McNally has been leading the motorcycle technical division of Cooper’s Avon brand, as product & design manager, since 2005. Also among McNally’s initial roles will be overseeing the certification of Cooper’s new plant in Serbia, acquired and opened last month, and the beginning of production there.

McNally joined Cooper Tire in 1987 as a tyre technician in the Avon Racing division. Shortly after, he became a tyre design engineer for motorcycle, rally cars, V6 Eurocars, Hot Rod, Historic F1 and other applications. He was promoted to Technical Group Leader, Motorcycle Road Tyres in 1997 and was named Product & Design Manager in 2005.
