Vipal to show 3 new treads at Reifen 2012
Vipal – the leading Brazilian company in South America and one of the largest retreading and repair material manufacturers in the world – has shared details of its exhibit at this year’s Reifen 2012 show which will be held in Essen, Germany, from 4 – 8 June. In short Vipal will present three new designs of pre-cured treads.
According to company representatives, this new range of treads forms a key part of Vipal’s plans exhibit some of the latest technological developments related to the retreading and repair of tyres. These centre around products that offer transporters a sustainable alternative for the reduction of operational expenses.
One of the highlights is said to be the pre-cured tread DV-UM3, which is intended for use in the retreading of urban buses and trucks. One key characteristic of the DV-UM3 is its improved heat dispersion.
Next up is the DV-RM, which is designed for the retreading of “interurban buses and trucks.” As it is a lighter tread, this product is designed to conserve the casing it is attached to increasing its level of reusability.
Another newly launched product is the DV-RT2 pre-cured tread, developed for the retreading of long distance radial drive axle tyres intended for use on long-distance freight transport vehicles.
Other exclusive products also on show at Reifen will include the company’s range of Eco pre-cured treads. According to company representatives, these are are “great tools for helping fleet and truck owners to reduce their costs and are part of Vipal’s Sustainable Transport project.” They are identified with a green dashed line and a label with the name ECO. “Tests carried out with ECO treads have proven a fuel saving of up to 10 per cent and a gain of up to 6 per cent in endurance,” stated Vipal’s head of marketing, Eduardo Sacco.
Borrachas Vipal was established in 1973, in Nova Prata, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The company currently has 3,000 employees with two factories in Nova Prata and one in Feira de Santana, in the state of Bahia, with a total of 160,000 square metres of factory space and five distribution centres in Brazil. Vipal exports to all continents and also has distribution centres in South America, North America and Europe.
