Nizhnekamskshina begins three-year AvtoVAZ OE supply deal
Russian car maker AvtoVAZ, manufacturer of the Lada brand, has announced its entry into a three-year strategic partnership agreement with tyre maker Nizhnekamskshina. The deal was signed by Damir Kashapov, vice-president of procurements at AvtoVAZ and Nail Maganov, first deputy general director of Nizhnekamskshina’s parent company OAO Tatneft; it provides for delivery of up to nine million tyres from 2012 to 2014.
The agreement stipulates that in 2012 between 2.0 and 2.5 million Kama brand tyres will be supplied to AvtoVAZ. Next year this quantity will increase to 2.5 to 3.0 million, and in 2014 the quantity will further rise, with between 3.0 and 3.5 million tyres to be supplied to the auto maker. AvtoVAZ says pricing “will be developed with the help of formulas and terms used by the leading world producers of tyres and cars.”
