Maxxis joins EDIWheel
Maxxis has announced that it has become the most recent tyre manufacturer to sign up with EDIWheel. “The economic environment means that tyre retailers are looking to maximise their existing resources to reduce the costs involved in running their businesses and EDIWheel represents a no cost benefit to them because they do not have to upgrade their software to access it,” says Maxxis International UK’s managing director Derek McMartin.
“EDIWheel will make it a lot simpler and quicker for retailers to obtain the data they need which, in turn, should have a positive effect on customer service, while the tyre industry as a whole will benefit from lower costs, greater efficiency and fewer errors.”
Already widely in use across Europe, EDIWheel helps ‘dialogue’ between computer systems, standardising information so that dealers can check current stock levels to determine availability, confirm prices and delivery details from various suppliers and obtain a response in real time. The software generates quotations, orders, delivery notes and invoices, and can also handle payment.
It has been suggested that the EDIWheel system will also benefit dealers when tyre labelling is introduced, with the required information on individual tyres made available on invoices generated electronically, saving the manufacturer the cost of having to supply it separately.
