Green mobility and tyre labelling the focus of new Lanxess website
Forget that song made famous by Kermit the Frog – it’s never been easier to be green. The tyre industry has embraced the trend towards more environmentally-friendly products, and there is hardly a serious player in the business that doesn’t offer consumers a green option.
Dedicated eco tyres are still a minority purchase, however, and consumer awareness of tyre-related environmental issues remains low. To counter this, Lanxess has launched a consumer oriented website that broaches the subjects of mobility and urbanisation from an environmental perspective – subjects Lanxess describes as being a “focus” for the company. The www.green-mobility.com website describes what green mobility is and what contribution Lanxess is making towards it with its products and technologies. The site provides information in a mix of text and multimedia formats including films, podcasts and interactive graphics. Photos are also available for download.
A particular focus on the newly-launched site is the EU tyre label; the website describes the different labeling categories, the properties of the tyres in each category, and how modern tyres can reduce fuel consumption.
