Pirelli supports Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy
With impeccable timing during the current cold snap, Pirelli and the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy have got together to help learner drivers become more aware of the risks of hazardous driving conditions.
Pirelli has supplied the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy’s fleet of A-Class cars with Pirelli Cold Weather tyres to help raise awareness of the importance of preparing your vehicle before the onset of wintery road conditions.
The new partnership is aimed at keeping new drivers safe, whilst also alerting them of the higher risks associated with driving on ice, snow and sub-zero temperatures. It will also help provide new drivers with the confidence to drive more safely in adverse weather conditions.
Pirelli UK’s managing director, Dominic Sandivasci, said that Pirelli’s specially adapted winter tyres are essential for all drivers, irrespective of the amount of experience an individual has had behind the wheel.
He continued: “By supporting the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy, we are stressing the importance of cold weather tyres to new drivers but it is essential that every driver makes the necessary adaptations to their car in order to help minimise accidents throughout the cooler winter months.”
The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy offers the opportunity to further reduce the uncertainty and the fear of driving in cold weather through the Winter Driving Course that takes place in the controlled environment of Mercedes-Benz World’s Handling Circuits and advanced skid pan. This is available to all drivers regardless of experience.
