Octavian Velcan new OTR MD Goodyear Dunlop EMEA

Octavian Velcan has been appointed managing director of the Goodyear Dunlop Off the Road tyre business for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Velcan will report to Michel Rzonzef, recently-appointed vice president of the Goodyear Dunlop Commercial Business Unit EMEA, which includes the truck tyre, OTR tyre and farm tyre business and customer support services.

“I  am  very  pleased  to  welcome  Octavian  to  our  team,”  said Michel Rzonzef, vice president of Commercial Business Unit  Goodyear  Dunlop EMEA. “OTR is an important part of our Commercial Business Unit, offering innovative products and services that cover a wide range of applications.”

Romanian, Octavian Velcan joined the company in 1999 as general manager for Goodyear Dunlop Tyres Romania. In 2006 he became general sales director for Goodyear Dunlop Tyres Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania. Most recently Velcan was general manager for Goodyear in the Middle East, a post he held for four years until his current appointment.

Goodyear Dunlop OTR products are developed and manufactured for all segments of the business, including mobile cranes, port applications, ground support equipment, wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks, rigid dump trucks and mining vehicles.
