Maxxis sponsors Major League Baseball franchises
Maxxis has announced that it will sponsor the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals baseball franchises in 2012. During the regular season, beginning in early April, Maxxis signage will be visible behind home plate for many Yankees, Dodgers and Nationals home games, increasing the brand’s visibility and extending its policy of major sports teams such as Liverpool Football Club in the UK, giving the brand important exposure to legions of baseball fans around the world.
Based internationally in Taiwan, Maxxis is linked to the Nationals through one of the franchise’s starting pitchers, Taiwan native Chien Ming Wang.
The company is an Official Sponsor of the Australian Open, the largest sporting event in the southern hemisphere and the first of the tennis calendar’s Grand Slam tournaments. Maxxis is also the Official Tyre of the Open, which was held from 16-29 January this year.
Maxxis UK also announced its sponsorship of the Swan Yamaha British Superbike team, the 2011 British Superbike champions. It is the title sponsor of the Maxxis British Drift Championship and the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship, while in Norway, Maxxis sponsors the Frisk Asker Tigers hockey team – eight-time Norwegian champions – whose games reach a home country TV audience of approximately 100,000 people.
