Maxxis adds “next generation” MCV3 van tyre to range
Available through Stapleton’s Tyre Services in the UK, Maxxis International has a range of economically priced van and light truck tyres that the company says deliver value through good durability and handling capabilities in all conditions. The company has announced that it has added a “next generation” product to its extensive van range, the MCV3.
With wider main grooves for better water dissipation and stability at high speed, the MCV3 also has more sipes on the main grooves and shoulders for increased comfort and traction in snow and mud. Large shoulder blocks and connections between the blocks are designed to prevent uneven wear, while special cross grooves on the shoulders also improve water dispersal and ensure a quiet ride. The tyre is available in sizes 195/75 R16C 8PR 107/105R and 235/65 R16C 10PR 121/119N.
The new Maxxis MCV3 joins the UR275, which is available in sizes 215/75R 17.5PR to 245/70R 19.5. The UR275 therefore offers medium-sized truck fitments, with increased manoeuvrability and handling stability. Maxxis also says that the tyre has an extra-strong puncture-resistant casing and low rolling resistance. The company claims the UR275’s tread compound formulation resists wear and heat generation, while the rib pattern provides a smooth, quiet ride.
Available in sizes from 12- to 16-inch, the UE168 is R-speed rated with a 70-80 profile. The light commercial tyre has a jointless spiral-wrapped full nylon cap for added strength and stability. Its rib tread design with deep shoulder grooves works to improve safety.
The UE103 is available in seven sizes, from the 165/70R14C to the 235/65R16C. It has what Maxxis terms a “premium rubber compound” and extra plies, which improve resistance to cuts, punctures and abrasions. Maxxis says the UE103 is a performance van tyre that “delivers year round stability, especially on motorways”, superior water dispersal and low in-cabin noise, making it particularly suitable for drivers covering longer distances.
Maxxis’ MA703 delivers improved traction in both wet and dry conditions, according to the company. The tyre was developed to try to combine the responsiveness of a performance tyre with the higher mileage capabilities of a touring tyre. The tread design helps to create smoother handling at high speeds, while the double-steel belt construction promotes stability and longer life.
Available in 36 sizes, from 155R13C to LT 275/70R16, the MA751 Bravo is aimed at sports truck, pick-up and 4×4 operators. The extra heavy-duty sidewall yields responsive handling and better traction on all terrains, according to Maxxis, while the tyre features a double steel belt and a jointless spiral-wrapped full nylon cap for improved durability.
Maxxis says that all of its van and light truck tyres feature a double steel belt construction along with continuous shoulder ribs for long life and uniformity and extra plies for improved puncture and abrasion resistance.
