Brityrex 2012: Ling Long to exhibit, Infinity joins Steering Group
Ling Long Tyres, distributed in the UK through LL Tyres Europe, has announced that it will exhibit at next October’s Brityrex International exhibition in Manchester’s new EventCity exhibition hall. Meanwhile, Infinity Tyres, whose Infinity brand tyres are manufactured by Ling Long manufacturer, Shandong Linglong, has joined the Steering Group for Brityrex International 2012. Infinity was responding to a request by exhibition organiser ECI and the show’s sponsor, the NTDA.
The Steering Group aims to provide initiatives and guidance in order to increase exhibitor and visitor attendance at the exhibition this year. Its first meeting took place in central London, chaired by Peter Gaster of Kings Road Tyres. The meeting was also attended by Clive Mansfield, sales manager for Europe of Infinity Tyres Europe.
Mansfield stated: “Infinity is honoured to have been asked to participate and we hope that with the help of the Steering Group this year’s exhibition will certainly be the biggest one ever.”
Jorge Crespo, Infinity’s European manager, said the company’s new role in the UK’s speciality tyre exhibition showed its level of engagement in the market: “Infinity is truly committed to the UK. Our presence at the show, and our support of the Steering Group are only some of the many ways in which Infinity is participating in the British tyre sector”.
Having been the first tyre brand to commit to exhibiting, Infinity Tyres said it intends to “reinforce its position as one of the leading premium economy tyres in the UK market.” At the meeting it was explained that over 60 per cent of the exhibition space had been booked by some of the biggest names in the industry, with six months still to go before it opens in October. ECI says this compares well with the same time ahead of the last exhibition in 2010.
EventCity, located in Trafford Park opposite The Trafford Centre, offers Brityrex International 2012 greater growth potential with 10,000 square meters of exhibition space in the current hall. Free parking, free wifi, close proximity to motorway and airport networks are some of the benefits that the new venue has to offer. Show sponsor the NTDA has scheduled its popular annual dinner and TAFF Awards to coincide with the show on Wednesday, 10 October, 2012. The show will run from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 October, 2012.
One of the features the Steering Group revealed it would be working on this year is the creation of topical workshops where possible subjects of discussion will include tyre labelling advice, new tyre repair standards, and TPMS.
One of China’s top three to exhibit
The addition of Ling Long Tyres to the exhibitor list at Brityrex 2012 will provide a boost to the show, as the manufacturer was recognised recently as one of China’s three largest tyre manufacturers, ranked as number 16 in the world in 2010. Ling Long said exhibiting would help it underline its “emergent status as a fast-growing international player”; the company says it has experienced annual growth rates of over 40 per cent, and it will have a specially-designed stand at the British trade show.
Jorge Crespo, European general manager of Eskay Tyres, stated: “Ling Long are very excited about taking part in Brityrex, a show they consider crucial to their continued market implementation in the UK, and they are looking forward to working closely at the show with their partners and clients.”
Based in Zhaoyuan City, China, Ling Long has recently launched a new European marketing campaign designed to promote the quality of its tyres. It states that it aims to produce the best-known tyre brand in the world, an ambition it supports by investing in technology, management, branding and marketing.
