Bridgestone launches Battlax SC

A new Bridgestone radial for larger scooters is due for release this year – The new Battlax SC will be launched in Japan on 1 April and will also be introduced into other global markets during the course of 2012, including North, Central and South America, Asian and Oceania. In Europe it will be available as a replacement tyre for maxi scooters of 300cc and above.

The Battlax SC will be available in two front sizes, 120/70R14 M/C 55H and 120/70R15 M/C 56H, and three for the rear, 160/60R14 M/C 65H, 160/60R15 M/C 67H and 130/70R16 M/C 61S. Bridgestone says the Battlax SC features a new tread pattern that incorporates concepts used in its hypersport tyres and is intended to provide an enhanced level of handling. The new tread pattern also features wider grooves for wet and dry performance. The grooves, Bridgestone says, are designed with optimal volume at precise angles to greatly reduce pattern noise.
