Bridgestone establishes Americas mining business unit
Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations reports it has reorganised the Bridgestone Commercial Group and set up an integrated mining tyre business unit. The new business unit, Bridgestone Mining Solutions, combines all mining tyre sales, service and sales engineering, as well as a select group of US and Canadian stores, into one integrated structure. Shawn Rasey will lead the new organisation as vice-president, Bridgestone Mining Solutions.
“We are very excited to begin this new chapter with our mining tyre business,” said Kurt Danielson, president, Bridgestone Commercial Solutions. “The formation of Bridgestone Mining Solutions will allow us to enhance our mining offerings and be more responsive to our mining customers’ needs.”
In terms of reorganisation, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations announced several personnel changes within its commercial tyre operations; the company says these measures will strengthen structural clarity, efficiency and profitability. Within Bridgestone Commercial Services, John Boynton has accepted the role of vice-president of Sales for TBR, Retread and Construction Tires. Within Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations’ Company Owned Operations Group, Doyle Bradford has accepted the position of vice-president, Sales and Operations. Finally, a new position has been created to assist in developing and executing long-term strategies for all commercial businesses. Stacey Simmons has accepted the role of director of Strategic Planning.
“Under this new structure, we have created a very dynamic and effective leadership team for our commercial tyre organisation,” said Ken Weaver, president, US & Canada Commercial Tire Sales Division, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations. “With these changes, our business will also be more streamlined, more responsive to changing market conditions and better positioned to achieve our goal of providing customers with comprehensive, solution-based offerings.”
