What Car? Awards highlight Hankook’s product development efforts
On 12 January What Car? hosted its ‘car oscars’ in London. Hankook Tyre UK serves as associate sponsor of the What Car? Awards, and the tyre maker had extra reason to celebrate when the Kia Rio was named this year’s ‘Ultra Low Carbon’ award winner. Hankook is an original equipment supplier for the Rio, with the Kinergy Eco in size 185/65 R15 88H one of the tyre options available.
Kia was commended for the Rio’s “dramatic progress” in the production of cars with the lowest average CO2 emissions during the last 12 months. Hankook’s says its association with the ‘Ultra Low Carbon’ award goes hand-in-hand with its focus on product development to help reduce CO2 footprint and increase fuel efficiency. With the introduction of the new tyre labelling system coming up, the tyre maker states there is “no better time” for it to continue investing in research and development to “ensure we work together to protect the environment.”
“Hankook is delighted to be the Associate sponsor of the What Car? Awards as such an established and prestigious industry event that is well recognised by both customers and consumers,” commented Tony Lee, managing director of Hankook Tyre UK Ltd. “Our partnership with What Car? has allowed us to align with one of the most authoritative and trusted brands in motoring, firmly positioning the Hankook brand within the industry and raising awareness to an audience of key influencers and decision makers.”
