Vauxhall tops van sales chart
Luton-based Vauxhall Commercial vehicles sold more vans at retail in 2011 than any other manufacturer, says the SMMT. Van sales during the year totalled 11,436 – a 25.05 per cent rise over the previous 12 months. To put this in perspective, the market grew by 8.32 per cent.
This was the first time in the company’s history that it has snatched the retail commercial vehicle slot and its year-end retail CV market share of 16.35 per cent was also an all-time record.
The Vivaro was the best-selling van in the retail medium van segment, with sales rising by 58.05 per cent year on year. Vauxhall’s van sales were boosted by an offer of four years’ zero per cent APR finance, four years’ free servicing, four years’ warranty and four years’ AA cover.
