Maxxis turf tyre now delivers extra life
Tyre manufacturer Maxxis says it is one of the top three brands engaged in the amenity market. The manufacturer is currently promoting its Turfmaxx product – the first road legal turf tyre to go on sale in the UK – saying that it is, ahem, “lawns ahead”. Available in a range of sizes and OE accredited by all the major turf machinery suppliers, the Maxxis Turfmaxx is purpose designed to address the safety issues associated with the extra roadwork implements cover between jobs.
Other features of the Turfmaxx include enhanced sidewall and bead protection with dual Kevlar belts for better puncture resistance and reduced downtime. This, together with an improved compound to increase safety when implements take to the roads between jobs, means that the Turfmaxx is now more robust, delivering up to 20 per cent extra life, according to Maxxis.
Maxxis also offers a municipal range of high grip, hard wearing contract tyres, including the Professional Municipal C165/S, a robust, multi-purpose tyre which fits compact tractors and is ideal for applications where Kevlar is not a requirement. The C769 and ribbed C737 have been developed for golf course fairways and complement the smooth C190/M190 pattern, while the versatile M7515 has been developed for use on banking, but is also eminently suitable for scissor lifts.
Maxxis’ Trailermaxx tyre is a purpose-developed high speed trailer tyre designed to deliver improved fuel economy and enhanced tread life along with low noise and a smooth ride. They are available in a large number of sizes and speed ratings, from the CR966 145 R10 82/84N 8pr – which is designed to carry big loads and easily exceeds the load capacity of competitor tyres – to products such as the 5.00-10 8pr, the 155/70 R12C and the 185/60 R12C.
Maxxis is an accredited ATV OE supplier to top manufacturers including Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Polaris and Suzuki. The Sur Trak (C9208) is an E-marked utility ATV tyre which the company says produces extra grip on the hillside, yet is also street legal. The multi-directional tread design with dual channel lugs moves loose soil away from the contact patch for enhanced traction and outstanding grip in mud, sand and snow while the outside shoulder lugs provide aggressive shoulder bite. Available in sizes AT22x11.00-8 2PR TL to AT26x12.00-12 2PR TL, the Sur Trak also features a durable nylon carcass for improved puncture resistance.
Maxxis has also established the E-marked Wildcat C828, a street legal ATV tyre, and the Rubicon M983 in farming and leisure markets.
4×4 range
The agricultural industry also relies on workhorse 4x4s; a vehicle range for which Maxxis continues to offer a large range. The all-terrain MA-752 delivers added durability and handling both on and off-road. The MT-753 mud radial has double steel belts for long-lasting wear and uniformity and a jointless spiral-wrapped full nylon cap. The AT771 Bravo offers increased all-terrain traction while the stiff carcass improves off-road stability and handling.
The Maxxis HT750 and HT760 are manufactured for better handling, while their double steel-belted construction ensures long-lasting wear and uniformity. The all-season tread design increases traction and handling in snow and in wet conditions and combines with two polyester body plies, which absorb road shock. Designed for year-round use the Buckshot Mudder (MT-754) is manufactured from a premium rubber compound and features an extra strong, durable casing for improved puncture and abrasion resistance. The aggressive tread pattern, rugged sidewall and self-cleaning lugs provide increased grip on all surfaces.
Also available from Maxxis are the Bighorn MT-762 with staggered shoulder lugs; the Trepador radial (M-8060); the extreme off-road tyre Creepy Crawler (M-8090); and the Mudzilla (M8080).
