GoldenTyre launching new scooter lines
This year Italian tyre brand GoldenTyre is introducing new scooter ranges. The first of these is a product intended for everyday use in all weather. The GT 75 M+S is suited for use in wintry conditions – the manufacturer states the tyre’s reinforced casing enables usage at a lower inflation pressure, a measure said to be recommended by experts for riding in the colder months. The tyre’s siped tread is also said to do a “superb job” in wet conditions, snow or in slush. The range in available in 10 to 14-inch sizes.
During the year a number of other products will enter the GoldenTyre range. These include the GT 070/071 for high-powered performance scooters, a tyre aimed at the popular 50HP and larger scooter segment and available in two 15-inch radial fitments; the GT 070M, which is described as a “modern scooter tyre with a classic tread pattern based on the original tyres of the Honda Monkey – the 1960s cult bike”; and the GT 104WW, a new tread pattern developed for retro scooter fans. Initially available in 12-inch fitments, from 2012 the range will also be extended to 10-inch sizes, such as 3.50-10, an optimum fit for older Vespas.
