Firestone sponsored award given to Countryfile star
Firestone has presented its sponsored Farming Personality of 2011 Award, to celebrity farmer, Adam Henson for his services to the industry. The prize, awarded in conjunction with Farm Business Magazine, was awarded to Henson at a ceremony at the House of Commons. Firestone and Farm Business said the star of BBC1’s Countryfile as a result of the work he has done to bridge the gap from 'farm to fork', in addition to his passion for farming.
Barry Coleman, Firestone’s product manager for northern Europe, who presented him with the award at the ceremony, said: “Adam has used his passion and his public profile to fight for the country’s farmers and bring their hard work, long hours, and quality produce not only to the nation’s attention but also to the supermarket shelves.
“Now, more than ever, British farming needs a champion to promote the top quality of the food it produces plus the work farmers do to protect and enhance the countryside. Adam is that man and he thoroughly deserves this recognition.”
