Richbrook aims to stylise valve caps
Richbrook designers have attempted to give one of the dullest of all motoring accessories a stylish look, while simultaneously solving what it terms “one of the great perennial motoring problems”. With the firm’s new ‘Never Lose’ valve caps, it aims to prevent the persistent annoyance of the conscientious motorist each time they check their tyre pressures.
The key design features of the NLVC include a tough Teflon tether affixed to the tyre’s valve that leaves cap itself free to spin. The pack also contains a knurled removal tool to keep hands free of the usual detritus gathered on wheels, no matter how much dirt, salt or brake dust is present.
The advantages of having valve caps present on all wheels are well known; they prevent dirt and water ingress into the delicate valve mechanism, and can also help to reduce air loss from a defective valve, thanks to their own internal seal. Running a set can help you keep your tyres at their optimum pressure, improving fuel efficiency and safety.
Richbrook says the NLVC cross many automotive market segments: club racers and motorsport enthusiasts, who need to check their pressures regularly and quickly can do so, knowing that the cap will never be lost, while caravan and motorhome owners can do an on-site check, without the cap disappearing into the grass or gravel. For regular drivers, the convenience of the NLVC is clear.
A set of Never Lose valve caps sell at a recommended retail price of £12.99.
