Rema Tip Top Minicombi set reflects austere times
Rema Tip Top’s UK branch landed the Innovation TAFF Award this year for the Ram-rod Tire Safe safety cage. In addition to the business that product attracted, Rema Tip Top says another product has been of particular interest this year. Making the argument that today’s economic climate calls for “favourably-priced solutions”, Rema Tip Top says its Minicombi plug/patch repair system is a “great alternative” to new tyre purchases, given that most tyre injuries can be repaired. “A genuine contribution to the sustainability of the environment can also be immensely satisfying to the responsible motorist,” the company maintains. The Minicombi is available for radial and cross-ply tyres and designed to be used to repair both the inside surface and puncture-canal, efficiently and durably in one step. The system can repair tread punctures of up to 10mm in diameter.
The Minicombi set is provided with a new light-blue contact layer to advance drying time by 50 per cent, according to Rema Tip Top, when used in conjunction with its new Fast Dry Cement BL. In addition, base diameters of A6, B8 and B10 Minicombi repair units are now smaller in size, which subsequently requires less preparation work and further improves concentricity. Punctures of up to 22mm in diameter can be repaired quickly with the pre-cured rubber plug Remastem coupled with a repair patch.
Larger injuries and sidewall damage can be repaired using uncured rubber, a Thermopress vulcanising machine and repair patches from the Rema Tip Top series RAD 100, RAD 500 or PN (cross-ply). The steel-reinforced RAD 500 patches are especially suitable for repairs to modern steel casings in order to limit imbalance and bulging after repair. Rema Tip Top Automotive UK Limited offers a tailor-made programme of repair materials and tools for almost all types of tyre injuries. In addition, specialist training courses for professional tyre repair are offered to customers, providing them with the skills and ability to repair tyres to British Standard BSAU 159f.
Vianor, Rema Tip Top global cooperation
Earlier in 2011, Vianor Holding Oy entered into a preferred supplier agreement with Rema Tip Top. The signed agreement guarantees Vianor the access to Rema Tip Top products and services throughout the former company’s current operating territory. The cooperation also enables Vianor to develop the level of its core operations and services to end customers even further in Vianor own equity and partner networks.
The cooperation between Vianor and Rema Tip Top was launched in Scandinavia during the second half of 2011, and will be expanded gradually to Central and Eastern European countries during 2012 and 2013.
