Kirkby Tyres to exhibit at LAMMA 2012
Kirkby Tyres has announced that it will have a “major presence” at LAMMA 2012 and will be featuring “many new tyre products and sizes for the tractor, row crop and trailer markets” Kirkby Tyres is the sole UK and Ireland agents for the extensive Alliance range of agricultural and earthmover tyres. The company is also the UK agent for BKT tyres and as such the string of launches and the products on display will be largely drawn from these two manufacturers.
Alliance is set to introduce the Farm PRO 85 and 70 series R-1w tractor radial tyres. With 20 per cent more tread than conventional R-1 tyres and a large foot-print the Farm PRO Traction tyre has an advanced multi–angle lug design with a steep central angle for a smooth ride, long wear and mud clearing properties and a shallow angle at the shoulder for exceptional traction and hillside stability.
The Farm Pro 85 series is available in all the popular sizes from 280/85 R24 (11.2R24) to 520/85 R38 and the 70 series from 320/70 R24 to 420/70 R30. Other new tyres from the Alliance group include the steel belted Flotmaster 390 flotation radial tyre. The Flotmaster has been developed to serve the needs of specific niche applications for implements working on sensitive surfaces which require optimised soil and plant protection. A unique rib type pattern, together with shoulders with more aggressive lugs provides the maximum tyre footprint coupled with the lowest possible ground pressure. The 390 radial tyre combines the best of flotation characteristics with those of the best of radial construction for on and off road applications. One of the most recent introductions from Alliance has been the 885 radial, flotation, all fabric, light duty, budget priced tyre. With a directional tread, and dense central blocks the 885 reportedly exhibits good grip and self cleaning qualities. It is currently available in 560/45 R22.5 and 560/60 R22.5 sizes.
For the Row Crop user, Alliance offers the Row Crop 350 radial tyre – a tyre designed with a tough casing and rigid belt. It has rounded shoulders for soil and plant protection and can be used for cultivation, harvesting and spraying applications.
As well as these products, according to Kirkby, a large stock of BKT agricultural and off-road tyres are “always available.” This includes the latest Agrimax Teris for combine harvesters where reduced soil compaction and heavy load carrying capacity at low pressure is important. The BKT Agrimax Fortis offers similar properties for high horse power tractors, providing high load carrying capacity at low pressure. Agrimax radial tractor tyres are available in the 85, 70 and 65 series with high load capacity (85 series), optimum traction and good self cleaning characteristics there is a tyre for every application. A full range of BKT Flotation tyres will also be on show including tyres from the Roadmax series with various patterns including the popular 630 non directional tread design and 648 implement and trailer flotation tyre. For the row crop user the BKT RT955 is designed for harvesting and crop treatment applications.
Kirkby Tyres also offers a full range of wheels and wheel assemblies for any fitment in the agricultural, row crop, trailer, wide-flotation, hi-speed/low compaction, earthmover and industrial markets. All wheels are made to OE specification. GKN one of the world’s leading manufacturers of agricultural and off highway wheels has chosen Kirkby Tyres as a partner for the OE and replacement market in the UK and Ireland enabling it to supply a built up unit for almost every application.
Kirkby Tyres has been in tyre and wheel wholesaling and distribution for over 60 years. During that time the company has established itself as one of the largest tyre and wheel ‘full line wholesalers and distributors’ in Europe with a head office and warehouse on a six acre site next to John Lennon airport in Liverpool and offices in Scotland, Ireland and China.
