Bosch appoints new technical service advisors
Bosch Automotive Aftermarket has appointed Alex Gibson and Paul Rendell as technical service advisors in the UK. The appointments were made following the transfer of existing advisors, Steve Meloy and Kevin Lyon, to the Data Engineering team and Original Equipment division, respectively. Gibson and Rendell join the hotline team responsible for providing technical assistance to Bosch customers to support servicing, diagnostic trouble-shooting, and replacement and repair of automotive products.
Their roles involve working closely with the Bosch training team in the UK and technical personnel in Germany to respond to customer queries. They will also contribute to technical articles and bulletins where required, for example in Bosch’s Auto Intelligence newsletter.
Alex Gibson worked within Renault’s dealer network for ten years, which culminated in him becoming a Renault technical expert and master technician. He also spent a total of three years at Ford, Citroën and Rover, as well as some time managing a workshop in a foreman role. On his new position, he said: “I have always noticed and respected the quality of the Bosch brand, its products and services and I wanted to be part of the team and help reinforce its leading position in the automotive market, particular for customer service.”
Paul Rendell has worked within the Bosch Car Service network and worked his way through the Bosch training programme, achieving the Master Technician qualification and the Institute of the Motor Industry engineering award. Rendell said of his new role: “I’m very pleased to be joining Bosch and putting my training and experience into practice by helping our customers within the Bosch network.”
