Michelin planning Thailand elastomer composite plant
Michelin Siam is making preparations for a rubber composites production facility in Thailand. The tyre maker has awarded the contract to build the elastomer composite plant to energy industry project management, engineering and construction company Technip, who will set up a turnkey facility in Songkhla Province’s Southern Region Industrial Estate. The project is expected to be completed in the beginning of 2013.
Established in 1987, Michelin Siam currently operates three tyre manufacturing plants, one mould manufacturing plant and one steel cord manufacturing facility in Thailand. These operations employ a total of 6,300 people.
