Cécile Michelin passes away
Cécile Michelin, widow of Michelin chief executive Edouard Michelin, who died aged 43 in a boating accident five years ago, died of cancer in Clermont-Ferrant on Sunday. She was just 44 years old and leaves behind six children aged between 9 and 18 years.
Following the tragic accident in May 2006, the already reclusive widow moved to the USA as she believed it would be a calmer and more protective environment for her children than the company’s home town where she previously lived. However she returned to Clermont-Ferrant some time ago. Cécile Michelin died only a relatively short time after her malignant illness was diagnosed.
