Bond International joins TyreSafe
TyreSafe reports that its membership drive is on a ‘roll’ Bond International, one of the UK’s leading tyre wholesalers, the latest to join up. 2011 has seen a number of public organisations and businesses show their commitment to road safety by becoming TyreSafe members, among them The Association of Chief Fire Officers, the British Horse Society, several vehicle manufacturers, tyre manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers as well as garage equipment suppliers.
Stuart Jackson, chairman, TyreSafe, said: “More and more people are seeing the difference that TyreSafe is making. Since we started in 2006, our activities have helped reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured each year in a tyre related accident by 38 per cent. However, we can’t rest on our laurels and need the ongoing support of industry to help us to continue to grow and spread the tyre safety message even further and wider. Therefore, it’s great that Bond International, with its vast resources and influential trade contacts, has put its weight behind us.”
Bond International was established in 1966 and has four national distribution centres. Reg Bond, managing director at Bond International said: “As a market leader we have a responsibility towards raising standards about tyre safety and by joining TyreSafe we know we can make our roads a safer place for all – motorists, passengers and pedestrians. With winter now on our doorstep making the correct tyre care and maintenance is especially important and we would encourage all drivers and business to follow TyreSafe’s wise advice.”
