Stapleton’s celebrates winning tyre sector ‘Oscar’ for second year running
Stapleton's has reponded to the news that it recently beat stiff competition to be re-named as Tyre Wholesaler of the Year at the NTDA Tyre and Fast Fit Awards 2011 held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham on 20 October.
Stephen Childs, head of range planning and marketing said that the award demonstrated the company’s continued commitment to its customers and the efforts made to cement strong relationship with its trade customers, as well as the hard work of its staff to ‘go the extra mile’. “To be voted as number one Tyre Wholesaler for a second year running is a great achievement, made even more special as the award is given based on the support of our customers. Our focus continues to be on developing strong customer relationships and delivering a first class service across the business,” he said.
“It’s a huge vote of confidence in our team and a tremendous achievement particularly given the strength of the field and that the award was so keenly contested. Many thanks to everyone who voted for us – we look forward to further building our customer relationships and maintaining our position as the industry leader,” he added.
News of Stapleton’s win follows a very busy year for the firm, which company representatives described as “progressive” and which saw it acquire North Eastern Tyres & Exhausts and experience a change of leadership (former managing director Kenji Murai now heads up Kwik-Fit).
The NTDA TAFF Awards are widely recognised as the industry’s key accolades for performance, and have also been dubbed ‘the tyre industry’s Oscars’. What makes them unique in the field is that the winners are chosen by their customers. This year saw strong lobbying for those nominated, with Stapleton’s topping the poll.
