Nexen introduces N’Blue fuel saver tyres at the Nürburgring
Nexen Tyre Europe GmbH recently invited partners from numerous European countries to the Nürburgring to test the quality of Nexen’s new Nexen N’Blue ECO and Nexen N’Blue HD fuel-saver tyres.Over fifty dealers from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Great Britain, France and Italy travelled to the Eifel (Germany) on 7 September to learn about both Nexen and its newest products. Participants were offered extensive test drives on the Nürburgring grand prix track. Using VW Golfs equipped with either the new Nexen N’Blue ECO or Nexen N’Blue HD summer tyres, the market specialists were shown the fuel-saver products’ driving and handling properties.

Beforehand, Dr Hendrik Steven, who has been part of the management team at Nexen Tyre Europe Technical Centre since the beginning of this year, presented the technical details of the tyre range that has been specially developed for Europe. Both the N’Blue ECO and the N’Blue HD sport numerous environmentally-friendly technologies. These include, for example, a special silica compound and profile design, thanks to which both rolling resistance and fuel consumption can be reduced, the latter by up to 20 per cent.
Travelling from Korea’s headquarters David Sul, senior managing director, overseas Sales Division of Nexen Tyre: reported on the progress of the new factory in Changnyung, Korea. There, a third Nexen factory is being built, boasting 500,000 square metres and an additional production capacity of 20 million tyres. The foundation stone was laid in June 2010; production is planned to start in 2012.
Jürgen Wägner, marketing and sales director of Nexen Tyre Europe GmbH, spoke about Nexen’s plans in Europe over the coming year.
