Goodyear IT630 T – a new tyre for tele-handlers

Goodyear has announced the launch of an extension to its successful range of durable radial industrial tyres – IT630T taking place at the British National Ploughing Championships held at East Coombe in Somerset on 8 October 2011. The new tyre is designed for use in hard ground applications and the suffix T denotes that its primary use will be on tele-handler or telescopic handler machines. The first size available is the most popular one for these machines; 460/70R24.

IT630T is made for the growing number of modern, sophisticated tele-handlers in the private or rental market. The tyre is designed for the new generation of stronger tele-handlers with higher boom reach and increased lift capacity operating on a variety of hard surfaces found in farm yards. The new tyre complements the IT620T tyre launched in 2009 which is designed for soft soil applications. The tyre also features the distinctive new sidewall design first seen on the IT620T.

Phil Stanton, Goodyear’s UK & Ireland Farm Tyre Manager said “As these machines become more versatile and are expected to carry out many different operations on varying surfaces we have found that there is a need for a tyre that is designed to operate on hard surfaces. The IT630T has been designed to provide the high levels of stability demanded by these high load and high lift machines but also to give extended tread life and resistance to punctures which reduces down time and helps reduce operating costs”

He added “As a major sponsor of the Society of Ploughmen who organise the British National Ploughing Championships, we thought this would be an ideal opportunity to launch our new tyre to a wide range of users of this type of tyre”.
