Goodyear expands Omnitrac mixed service truck tyre range

Goodyear has announced the introduction of 14 new Omnitrac MSS II and MSD II truck tyre sizes. Typically for use on vehicles operating on and off road, such as those in service on construction sites, waste tips and quarries, the ranges now cover all the major sizes and include variants with Duraseal technology, Goodyear’s air loss prevention system in the event of a puncture.

Goodyear Omnitrac MSS II and MSD II tyres are respectively for steer and drive axles and both feature “Omnitrac Max Technology”, combining damage resistant tread compounds robust carcass constructions and optimised tread patterns. Goodyear says the tyres give improved mileage in on and off road service and traction compared with their predecessors. Features include wide treads for greater mileage potential, stone protection, mud clearing measures and good retreadability for enhanced fleet efficiency. The tread design enhancements also give better braking capability and reduce noise. Damage protection is critical for tires operating in tough conditions to prevent cuts and punctures that can render carcasses unsuitable for retreading.

The new carcass construction increases damage resistance, durability and retreadability. Enhanced mileage, improved damage resistance, corrosion propagation resistance, less ‘growth’ and improved robustness result from the high tear- and ageing-resistant tread compound, specific under-tread compound, dedicated belt materials and “ultra-tensile” carcass material. This means greater reliability, less downtime and greater economy. 

To complete its mixed service range, Goodyear has introduced the new tire size 325/95R24. The size is tubeless and the metric equivalent of the 12.00R24. It gives an increased load capacity of 500kg per axle in comparison with the 12.00R24.
