Dealers team up with schools in Bridgestone and McConechy’s art contest
Bridgestone and McConechy’s tyre dealerships are running “Re-inventing the Wheel” drawing competition in schools across Scotland. Pupils from schools in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Kirkcaldy are drawing their ideas of how they could reuse tyres from their family cars after they are no longer road safe. Each of the four schools: Sighthill Primary, Giffnock Primary, Merkinch Primary and Torbain Primary are paired with a local McConechy’s dealership.
Representatives from Bridgestone and McConechy’s will choose a winner from each of the four schools and reward them with a Kindle and gift vouchers to purchase electronic books. Large tyres will be delivered to each school along with a £100 gift card which can be used to purchase gardening equipment and seeds to grow flowers, plants and vegetables.
Donald Carmichael, managing director of McConechy’s said: “This competition is a great way to get the children to think about greener and safer motoring in a fun and encouraging way. We had a fantastic response from the schools involved and every child who entered should be extremely proud of their efforts and congratulated for all of their hard work.”
