Bridgestone Illinois OTR Plant Getting Enhancements
The Bloomington Pantagraph reports that the Bridgestone Americas OTR tyre plant in that Illinois city is getting a $20 million capital investment. The Bridgestone Firestone Off Road Tire Co. plant’s capacity will be increased and some 40 jobs added, the report said.
The news comes about a month after the tyremaker announced plans to build a $900 million giant radial OTR tyre plant in South Carolina.
“One component of the plan includes amending the Bloomington, Normal and McLean County enterprise zone to include the plant at Fort Jesse Road and Veterans Parkway, allowing the company to capture some savings on its investment,” the report said. (Tire Review)
