Yokohama launches global Twitter service
Starting today, Twitter users can keep up to date on the latest happenings at Yokohama Rubber. The Japanese company announced the opening of its official English language Twitter account on September 20 and said it will use it to “disseminate information on its various business activities globally.”
The account name Yokohama has chosen for spreading its tweets is “@YRC_Global.” Together with notifications of news releases, Yokohama will tweet announcements about updated information on tyres and wheels, motor sports events, IR activities and other information posted on the company’s English language websites. Furthermore, the company will re-tweet tweets from other Twitter-using Yokohama Rubber Group companies around the world.
Yokohama Rubber opened an official Twitter account (@YokohamaRubber) in Japanese in February, and the company says that since then it has been “enjoying a continually increasing number of followers.” This Japanese account focuses on news releases and website updates, and also releases tweets on events promoting public awareness of tyre safety and exhibitions.
