Stapleton’s to distribute Maxxis tyres
Tyre manufacturer Maxxis has agreed a new distribution agreement with Stapleton’s Tyre Services. The UK’s largest tyre distributor will begin supplying Maxxis products from October 1 and an exclusive distribution arrangement will commence in January 2012. Stapleton’s representatives confirmed that the latest brand to enter its portfolio is an addition to the range and existing brands will remain as they are.
The news follows Maxxis’ recent decision to end its exclusive distribution deal with Grouptyre. Maxxis reports that it is pursuing “ambitious growth and brand development plans and to achieve these it is committed to improving range accessibility in the UK.”
“Stapleton’s enjoys a well-earned reputation for focussing on productivity and efficiency to ensure its customers receive a high quality, reliable service, and as a result it has developed some extremely important long-term customer relationships,” said Maxxis International UK’s managing director Derek McMartin.
McMartin the when on to reveal some of the thinking behind the deal: “Stapleton’s has the national infrastructure needed to ensure Maxxis products are readily available to all retailers, and we look forward to working with its highly knowledgeable and experienced regional sales support and business development team to increase our share of the UK tyre market by delivering attractive business growth and profit opportunities for all dealers who sell the Maxxis brand.”
Stapleton’s will reportedly ensure that retailers who buy Maxxis through the company are rewarded for their loyalty. Benefits include preferential purchasing prices, in-store marketing support, substantial margins and personalised rebate schemes, while every Stapleton’s customer also has their own dedicated account manager.
Under the new distribution arrangement, retailers who purchase Maxxis car, van and 4×4 tyres from Stapleton’s will be eligible to participate in the Maxxis Rewards scheme and could be in with a chance of winning some superb prizes – including a two-centre VIP trip to Thailand with a guided tour of a Maxxis factory – as well as point of sale items and the latest Maxxis promotional clothing. The Maxxis Rewards programme runs from 1 October 2011 to 31 March 2012.
Stephen Childs, head of range planning and marketing for Stapleton’s, said: “Maxxis is a well-renowned, quality brand with one of the most comprehensive size ranges in the industry. We are delighted to be working with such a prestigious brand and we look forward to increasing the accessibility of the product to the market and our customers alike.”
