Marangoni introduces “new generation” BUS100 Ringtread
Marangoni Retreading Systems has introduced a “new generation” Ringtread design, available for retreading city bus and intercity coach tyres. The BUS100 is designed to improve overall efficiency by increasing mileage and reducing running costs, according to the manufacturer. The pattern features a wide footprint, increased by more than 5 per cent, and solid and sturdy shoulders to improve damage resistance when hitting kerbstones.
The tread also uses interlocking sipes in its reinforced and stabilised tread blocks to improve traction and regular tread wear. The modern dimensional sipes are deeper and also improve resistance to tearing and very regular tread wear. The pattern is created by extruding the rubber directly into the moulds, giving what Marangoni describes as “perfect uniformity of the final tread ring”. The profile is made using compounds suitable for city use, able to withstand continuous stop-starts and giving better mileage performance. These compounds also allow the tyre to operate at lower working temperatures in conditions that cause overheating, helping reduce casing fatigue and longer life.
