Halfords Autocentres to use 1link Service Network

Halfords Autocentres has signed up to the 1link Service Network as a supplier of service and maintenance for light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. The company, which has 246 centres across the UK, is a long time user of the e-commerce platform for company car servicing but this is the first time van and light truck servicing will be processed using 1link. The company currently looks after many thousands of commercial vehicles each year for private customers, SMEs through and large national fleets, while all 246 Halfords Autocentres in the network can look after all Car Derived Vans (CDVs) and over 150 centres have the access, lifting equipment and tools to look after LCVs up to 3.5tonnes GVW, according to a company representative.

Bill Duffy, chief executive at Halfords Autocentres, said: “We are very keen to attract more business from LCV fleets and signing up to 1link as a supplier of service and maintenance for this sector is a key step forward in this strategy. We are growing quickly and want to make it easy as possible for customers to do business with us.

“We already make extensive use of the 1link platform as part of our relationship with major company car and van fleets and it has proven very successful for us in terms of processing fleet work quickly and accurately. The same should be true for commercial vehicles.”

Ken Trinder, head of business development at epyx, the company behind 1link, said that the size and capacity of the 1link Service Network supplier network continued to grow. He said: “We recently passed the 16,000 mark for the number of franchise dealers, independent garages and fast fits signed up to 1link Service Network, and often those already using the platform – like Halfords – are extending the range of services they offer. Halfords Autocentres have an excellent reputation among our fleet customer base and are used by many major companies. We are pleased to see them extend their use of 1link Service Network.”
