Brian McDermott to head GITI Tire UK
GITI Tire UK has added five staff members to its number after a summer of interviewing and appointing personnel. Following Richard Lyons’ promotion to the new role of European general manager in May former Pirelli man Brian McDermott has become general manager GITI Tire UK effective 1 November.
In addition the company has taken on two former Goodyear Dunlop employees. Steve Macdonald joins as truck and bus regional sales manager for the midlands. Tyres & Accessories understands that Macdonald moved to the company in August 2011. He is joined by the new technical sales manager, Alistair Brown who took up his new role in at the start of September 2011.
As well as a number of experienced appointees, GITI Tire UK has also taken on some fresh blood in the form of Toby Wallis (who is the company’s new product and pricing analyst – PCR) and Mike Allen who is customer service administrator for the truck and bus side of the business. Both roles commenced in August 2011 and are part of the new GITI Tire UK graduate programme. According to company representatives, this new programme is designed to attract new graduates to the company follow a course of working in various departments and has the possible potential opportunity for international exposure.
