Yokohama eco tyre OE on new Mazda
Yokohama Rubber reports it is supplying original equipment tyres to Mazda’s latest model Demio, which went on sale in Japan on June 30. The compact car, known as the Mazda2 in many export markets, is a facelifted version of the popular model first released in 2007; the updated car is fitted with the Japanese tyre maker’s Aspec A349 BluEarth in size 175/65R14 82S.
The BluEarth range is described as being a global concept centred on the theme of “environmentally, human and socially friendly” tyres.” Yokohama says the tyres’ design and the material compounding technology used enables the BluEarth to achieve “excellent fuel economy as well as highly balanced driving performance, safety and comfort.” When fitted to the Demio, the BluEarth helps achieve fuel economy of 30.0km/L (10-15 mode) and 25.0km/L (JC08 mode).
