Toyo seeks to put motorists in charge of the weather

Toyo Tires reports that its range of winter tyres are specifically designed to tackle even the most unpredictable of wintry driving condition. As average temperatures fall and road surfaces become more hazardous, Toyo Tires representatives say the firm’s winter range will “increase driver’s safety during the winter months and you don’t need snow to appreciate the spectacular benefits of Toyo Tires.” According to the company, their winter tyres cope with slush, ice, mud and even your average December downpour and will prove their worth in keeping drivers on the move, whatever the conditions. Featuring computer-optimised tread designs, Toyo Tires range of winter tyres come in a wide variety of sizes to suit all vehicles, from small compact cars to ultra high performance models to 4×4’s and SUV’s.

The Snowprox S953 is the newest Toyo Tires high performance winter tyre. Available in aspect ratios from 60 down to 40 series and in 15 to 18 inches, the Snowprox S953 has been developed to offer improved braking and ride comfort in wet and dry conditions.

According to Toyo, the Snowprox S952 is designed for the British winter. It was developed to drive safely and easily in winter conditions and apparently “even without snow, the Snowprox outperforms normal tyres when it’s cold.” The Snowprox S952 is available in a range of sizes from 15 to 18 inches.

The Snowprox S942 is a stylish and functional tyre that has been designed for optimum performance in all kinds of wintry road conditions from wet and slippery to snow and ice. An asymmetrical tread pattern with high density sipes and a silica-reinforced compound is designed to deliver excellent traction, braking and high speed stability on both wet and snowy roads. Snowprox S942 is available in a range of sizes from 13 to 16 inches.

Toyo reports that the Snowprox S930 is ready to tackle mixed winter conditions. It is available in a range of 80-series fitments, making it ideal for smaller hatchbacks and saloons, and in sizes from 12 to 14 inches.

And finally, the Open Country W/T is Toyo’s latest winter 4×4 tyre designed to offer maximum grip in cold and wet conditions. The asymmetric tread is intended to give the tyre firm ground contact resulting in both great handling and traction on slippery roads. The silica based compounds in the tread are for enhanced braking on wet roads and are said to work particularly well on vehicles equipped with ABS.
