This year’s HiQ Grid Girl – could it be you?
Despite receiving no lack of talent, HiQ says those wishing to become the fast fit network’s official ‘Grid Girl’ still have a chance. If you are suitably qualified – to be in with a chance you must be at least 18 years old and, presumably, female – entries are still being taken at the hiqonline.co.uk website until August 30.
So far HiQ has received around 30 nominations, and says it faces an “extremely tough task” in whittling this down to ten finalists. The winner will act as the company’s grid girl at for Tom Chilton at the BTCC race at Silverstone on October 16 and be presented with vouchers for a weekend health spa of her choice. The eye-catching HiQ pink race suit worn on the day will also be hers to keep.
The HiQ Pink Grid Girl was launched in 2009 to raise awareness of the network’s Breast Cancer Care fundraising efforts. This year the HiQ Pink Grid Girl competition will coincide with a fundraising drive at Silverstone on October 15 and 16, where giant foam spanners, pink hats and novelty headwear will be given away in return for donations to Breast Cancer Care. Spectators will also be invited to dress in pink for the day to show their support.
“Our HiQ Pink Grid Girl competition was so successful that we simply had to bring it back,” commented HiQ marketing manager Geraldine McGovern. “We have already received dozens of entries, all from fantastic candidates so it is already looking like an impossible task to find our shortlisted 10. The winner will enjoy a day at Silverstone with us while working for Team Aon as an official grid girl. They will be part of a really special day and we hope as many people enter as possible.”
To enter, budding HiQ pink grid girls must send an image of themselves in pink regalia to HiQ along with a brief description why they would like to represent the fast fit network at Silverstone as it aims to hit the £100,000 mark for Breast Cancer Care.
