Snap-on sponsors vocational training event
Snap-on has announced that it will sponsor WorldSkills London 2011, a world-leading vocational training event to be held at the ExCel centre in London from 5-8 October. Chris Behan, Snap-on Equipment’s general manager, comments: “We’re pleased to be supporting Snap-on’s sponsorship of WorldSkills London 2011, which will give contestants from across the globe the chance to put their skills to the test on the latest wheel alignment equipment. I believe that WorldSkills will provide our young people with an unrivalled opportunity to gain inspiration and insight into the vast range of worthwhile skill-based careers available in the motor industry and beyond.”
WorldSkills brings 1,200 competitors from 50 countries to compete in 45 skill-based competitions that span a range of occupations including construction, the creative arts, information and technology, as well as manufacturing, engineering and transportation. Over 150,000 visitors are expected to attend WorldSkills, making it the largest single exhibition held in the UK to-date.
In addition to being an overall Gold event sponsor, Snap-on is a presenting sponsor of the Automotive Technology competition, where contestants will be using Snap-on Equipment’s John Bean V3D Lite four-wheel, full 3D wheel alignment system. Snap-on is also supplying equipment for the Aircraft Maintenance, Auto Body Repair and Poly Mechanics competitions and has joined Honda for the ‘Pit Stop Challenge’ where visitors can try their hand at wheel changing under timed motorsport conditions.
