Remo Corghi dies
Remo Corghi, co-founder of the company that produces Corghi tyre service equipment and president of the Nexion Group, died suddenly on July 30, aged 81.
In 1954, Corghi and his brother, Erminio, founded Corghi Elettromeccanica, which initially focused on products such as television voltage stabilisers, agricultural machinery, household appliances and textile equipment. It wasn’t until the late 1950s that the brothers entered the tyre service business with wheel balancing equipment. In 1961, Erminio developed the Artiglio tyre changer, the first product of its kind.
After the death of Erminio in 1968, Remo, together with his sister-in-law, Maria, and his nephew, Giuliana, continued to run and grow the company. In 1984, Remo Corghi was named president of Corghi SpA. He later founded the Nexion Group, a holding company that controls all the companies acquired and created by Corghi.
