Infinity Tyres Foundation launched
Infinity Tyres has launched its new foundation, which comprises the Infinity Aspire and Infinity OutReach programmes designed respectively to help “talented young people and give them a fair chance”, and “to identify and support local causes in the communities where Infinity operates”. The company says it is “proud to introduce the Infinity Tyres Foundation,” which “believes in giving back to the community locally, regionally and throughout the world”.
Infinity’s statement continued: “we believe that helping those in need will inspire other global corporate and private citizens and individuals to do the same, improving the quality of life for all. The Infinity Tyres Foundation aims to be an inventive institution and utilise a creative approach to find realistic solutions to difficult challenges, often hoping to break ground with newer ways to support the communities we operate in throughout the world.”
Infinity Aspire will promote talented young people, with the foundation noting the “fundamental” importance of education in “the development of people and society, as well as to economic growth”. It says it aims to “discover and mobilise… the hidden potential and talents” of young people in the developing and developed world, specifically in the field of cultural education. Infinity says this area “helps young people discover their own creative potential, develop skills and build confidence”. In order to do this the foundation will help children and young people from underprivileged families “to successfully complete their education… [and] build their own social networks”. It will provide “scholarships, job training and internships primarily concentrating on students at the post-secondary level.”
Infinity Aspire
Infinity Aspire currently runs a programme of “educational adoption for disadvantaged children”, set up “to provide for a child’s education all the way up to Master’s level in rural India”. The new programme will go beyond that, involving “the whole of Infinity’s family. For example,” the company’s statement continues, “Infinity’s Board Members meet with these children and their families on a regular basis and ensure that they being mentored properly and personally monitor their educational performance.
“During their education process, these children are given the opportunity to benefit from an international work placement within the Infinity family on a fully paid basis. After this professional stint, they are offered the chance to join Infinity’s Training & Development Programme which includes on-the-job and factory training. Those which successfully complete the programme are then guaranteed jobs at an international level within the Infinity family. These children are guaranteed employment with the Infinity family, however they are free to choose any employer they wish.
“Whilst the Infinity Foundation supports communities in the developing world, we also recognise that talent knows no boundaries, and that there are talented young people that require our support in the developed world as well. As such the Infinity Foundation supports three scholarships at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. These scholarships are focused on Music, as we believe it is very important for young people to discover their creative potential and their artistic side.
“Given the tough professional environment that currently exists in the UK, Infinity Aspire has decided to support students at the University of Oxford by arranging fully paid international internships for students that may not be able to afford international travel and stay abroad for internships. In addition to providing these students with an international work experience, Infinity Aspire will fully pay for their travel and accommodation whilst they work in various locations within the Infinity family.”
Infinity OutReach
Infinity OutReach meanwhile will “identify and support local causes”. In the UK the Infinity Tyres Foundation has begun its support of BEN – the automotive industry charity. In the UAE, the foundation has begun its support of SAATHI, an organisation involved in special needs institutions, parent support groups, training organizations, professional bodies, caretakers and members of the larger community and promoting their work in tandem with one another.
The programme will now focus on identifying opportunities in more of the countries where Infinity operates.
