Euro Car Parts chairman to meet UK PM
Euro Car Parts’ founder and chairman Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia will meet with the UK’s prime minister and chancellor of the exchequer when he attends a “reception for business leaders at 10 Downing Street in mid-September. Ahluwalia has invited comments from the garage trade prior to his meeting with David Cameron and George Osbourne, stating that he will use the occasion to discuss key issues such as the proposed increase in the gap between mandatory MOT tests.
Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia commented: “To be invited to meet with David Cameron, George Osborne and other business leaders is a great opportunity. I will use it to raise awareness of the key issues in our sector, including the huge dangers of any reduction in the frequency of the MOT.
“This is an exceptional opportunity for our Prime Minister to understand the current business challenges in the aftermarket and for Euro Car Parts to champion the aftermarket.
“We are fully committed to helping our industry prosper and, like the IAAF, believe that everyone in our industry should have their say.
“I request that members of the Trade, particularly independent garage owners, email me with suggestions as to subjects I should raise. In particular, I feel the top politicians should hear about the impact any relaxation of MOT testing will have on road safety, vehicle emissions, employment in our industry and vehicle maintenance in general.”
Euro Car Parts has won several prestigious awards this year, including the Profit Track 100 Best Management Team award. It has also been nominated in the High Growth Business of the Year category at the 2011 Private Business Awards.
