Bridgestone reveals three-pronged IAA focus
Bridgestone has revealed that it will focus on its future strategy in ecology, innovation and reliability on its 284m² stand in Hall 8 at the 2011 IAA show in Frankfurt. The stand will be split into three sections, with the left devoted to ecological features, the middle and “innovation zone” and the right focused on reliability.
From left to right, the manufacturer’s Ecopia EP150 will be displayed on the all-electric Nissan Leaf. A supporting display will explain how Bridgestone’s NanoPro-Tech technology “reduces rolling resistance without sacrificing grip”. In the middle the company’s new “Half Weight” concept tyre and a Contact Area Information Sensing (CAIS) system that measures tyre strains during rotation will be shown. On the right, Bridgestone’s latest generation run-flat tyres with new heat-controlling technology will be displayed, with the Potenza S001 RFT displayed for the first time.
Next to the run-flats, Bridgestone will unveil its comprehensive new range of winter tyres, including the new Bridgestone A001 Weather Control tyre for regions with mild, wet winters. A DSV (German Ski Association) branded Audi Q5 fitted with Bridgestone Blizzak LM-80 tyres signals Bridgestone’s determination to support and further strengthen its growing winter tyre business by tying in as sponsor for most of the World Cup Alpine Ski events in 2011/2012.
