Vee Rubber producing more than 25 million tyres
Vee Rubber has had a long period of sustained growth in the last two decades, and is now the employer of over 4,000 at its three large manufacturing facilities on the outskirts of Bangkok. Their combined production now exceeds 25 million tyres per annum, about half of which is now exported through branch offices throughout Asia, Western Europe, USA, Canada and Latin America.
Formed in 1977, initially as a producer of bicycle and motorcycle tyres and tubes, by Vitorn Sukanjanapong, the CEO and managing director spoke to Tyres & Accessories in Bologna about the extension of the size range Vee now produces, as well as the different segments it now covers: “Technology and process spin offs are beginning to impact upon all areas of group design and implementation, as witnessed by the introduction of the ‘Monster’ series motorcycle custom tyres, these being the largest motorcycle tyres internationally available.
“Recently we expanded our product line with the introduction of SUV, a new range of commercial tyres and the ongoing development of our successful winter tyres. The size range has also increased across our complete tyre portfolio. While exports, especially those to the USA, continue to rise to the point now where more than 50 per cent of our total production is sold overseas, sales in the domestic market remain as strong as ever.
“The Vee Rubber Group is firmly committed to the continuous development of its manufacturing efficiency and quality… Compound ingredients, tyre design and tread performance, as well as quality assurance, are closely supervised by our team of experienced engineers using the very latest computer controlled equipment. It is pleasing to report that our company is consistently able to attract new business by the production of quality products, efficient services and an effective marketing programme.”
